The ENAMP Advisor is an intelligent assessment tool built on the National Electrical Code 2026 (NEC 2026) standards, designed to perform comprehensive electrical load calculations and provide critical insights to homeowners, tenants, contractors, and installers when planning new electrical installations. By analyzing existing electrical infrastructure and calculating the total projected load from planned additions—such as electric vehicle chargers, heat pumps, solar systems, or major appliances—the ENAMP Advisor determines whether the current utility service capacity is sufficient or if an upgrade is required. Leveraging NEC 2026 requirements for load calculations, panel sizing, and safety standards, the system evaluates factors including panel capacity, service wire sizing, conductor ampacity, and total amperage demand to provide code-compliant recommendations on when utility service upgrades are necessary. When an upgrade is identified, the ENAMP Advisor outlines the associated costs, which can range from $3,000 to $15,000 or more depending on the scope of work, including new service panels, meter upgrades, and utility company coordination fees. Importantly, the tool also highlights the potential project delays that utility service upgrades can introduce—typically 4 to 12 weeks for utility scheduling, permitting, and installation—allowing stakeholders to plan accordingly and avoid costly surprises mid-project. By providing NEC 2026-compliant foresight early in the planning process, the ENAMP Advisor empowers informed decision-making and helps ensure electrical projects proceed safely, efficiently, and within full regulatory compliance.
